Are you guilty of falling into the ‘When I’ future trap? 🧐
If this is you, you might say things like:
• When I’ve got X amount in the bank I’ll outsource that task I hate
• When things are a bit more stable I’ll book that holiday
• When I’ve lost a bit of weight I’ll buy new clothes
• I’ll make self-care a priority when things are less busy at work
It’s all well and good working towards goals and a brighter future.
Problem is, you’re screwing over your future self by not honouring your desires right now.
I’m going to repeat that, because it’s really important.
You are never going to create the life you want in the future, if you don’t start living it, right now.
The ‘When I’ future trap is horrible. It’s like you can only have what you want when you’re a good girl, and jump through these arbitrary hoops you set yourself.
Your desires are not conditional.
Your job is to honour the deepest desires of your heart and gut, and take every step you possibly can to live that at its fullest expression.
Whole hearted living.
It was my birthday this weekend - 41.
We had our first family camper van trip to the Lakes.
I took my kids wild swimming for the first time.
It was bloody freezing and I’m looking for spa breaks but we also had a marvellous adventure.
The hour is later than you think.
What does your wild heart yearn for?
